Parent and Community Engagement

Parent and Community Engagement

Parent and Community Engagement is an area that Sacred Heart School prides itself on and continues to work towards improving. The school is always seeking to involve and engage parents and the community, especially to improve student learning. The school aims to incorporate opportunities for learning with parents and the members of the community.  We deeply belief that parents are the first educators of their child and that it takes a village to raise a child, not just teachers.

Examples of parent and community engagement at Sacred Heart include:

  • All parents being invited to attend School Community Advisory Council Meetings
  • Parent Information Nights
  • Invitations to Religious Celebrations such as:
    • Grandparents Day Liturgy
    • Opening of the Year Mass
    • Class Masses and Liturgies
    • Sacramental Programs
  • Classroom helpers for Reading, Writing, Maths and Art
  • Working Bees
