Parent and Community Engagement
Parent and Community Engagement
Parent and Community Engagement is an area that Sacred Heart School prides itself on and continues to work towards improving. The school is always seeking to involve and engage parents and the community, especially to improve student learning. The school aims to incorporate opportunities for learning with parents and the members of the community. We deeply believe that parents are the first educators of their child and that it takes a village to raise a child, not just teachers.
Examples of parent and community engagement at Sacred Heart include:
All parents being invited to attend School Advisory Council Meetings
Parent Information Nights
Invitations to Religious Celebrations such as:
Opening of the Year Mass
Class Masses and Liturgies
Sacramental Programs
Classroom helpers for Reading, Writing, Maths and Art
Working Bees
Visitors & Volunteers
VISITS TO SCHOOL
If School Community members or other visitors enter school premises, they are asked to sign in at the front office and wear an appropriate badge.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS
It is now a government regulation that all adult volunteers / helpers over the age of 18 undergo a Working With Children Check. If you help out in the classroom it is necessary that you have a Working With Children Card. Applications can be submitted online. There are no application charges involved in lodging the forms.
