Wellbeing

Wellbeing

Wellbeing is an equally important part of student life at Sacred Heart. The school has many wellbeing aspects in its curriculum. is Sacred Heart prides itself on the level of pastoral care offered to each child. We focus on ensuring that children are happy, have friends and work that is achievable. These three ingredients make coming to school and leanring a positive experience. Wellbeing is included in the classes in the following ways;

  • In 2022, we joined The Resilience Project’s Parnership Program. We run lessons each week that aim to build emotional literacy, understand others’ emotions, and to build respect and resilience (being about to bounce back from low points).

  • The school focuses on and celebrates proactive mental health days including;

    • Bullying, No Way! National Day of Action - March

    • Harmony Week - March

    • NAIDOC Week - July

    • R U OK Day - September

    • Day for Daniel - October

School Counsellor

The school has been fortunate to be able to access the services of a Chaplain from CatholicCare one day per week. Our Chaplain is available to work with children who need someone to talk to, need a little more TLC or to run programs with them to help their wellbeing. The Chaplain can also provide advice to families about parenting.
